Hailsham Boxing Club

Pricewatch at Hawkswood Service Station has donated £460 to Hailsham Boxing Club to help provide transportation for the group. Securing premises last year, Hailsham Boxing Club now offers free boxing training sessions for local children as well as adult boxing sessions, which are all run by volunteer coaches.

As well as the positive impact that boxing has on physical health, the group supports adults with mental health and addiction issues through training and by providing access to a counselling programme offered by Change Grow Live. The £460 donation helped to purchase a minibus from the Community Centre and new minibus seats, which will provide the Club and its service users with more opportunities to get out and about in the community.

Tŷ Hafan

Tŷ Hafan received £1,000 from CK’s Supermarkets to help provide special bereavement boxes for local families. Each year Tŷ Hafan supports around 35 families who sadly experience the death of a child, and the charity is fundraising for bereavement boxes, a project which would make a difference by providing emotional support and comfort to bereaved families of life-limited children between the ages of 0-18.

Child bereavement is a devastating experience, but Tŷ Hafan know from years of providing this specialist support that one of the things that brings comfort at this most awful of times is finding ways to build memories and then cherish and keep those memories.
